A Corporate Open House

When I signed on with Rinovum in the spring, I had no idea that planning an open house was going to be in my future~something I love to do! For the last 2 months I have carefully planned our big evening~invitations, centerpieces, catering, decor, etc. It was a blast! The night went really well. The guests seemed to have a great time and raved about the decor and food. My boss expressed his satisfaction as well, which was the best! I wasn’t able to take as many pictures as I was hoping to, simply because the evening was so busy!

The event was catered by The Farmers’ Wives, my best friend and her M-I-L, and everything was fantastic! Linens were beautiful and were from Classic Tent Rentals. Centerpieces and decor were done by your very own Peasant Princess. :)

All in all, the evening was a huge success and I’m looking forward to the next one….

The beginning of a dream....

What an exciting day! I feel like today is the start of a dream that’s been in my heart for quite awhile. Today marks the beginning of The Peasant Princess, a special events planning site. I love to decorate and plan events. I always end up helping at my friends weddings and special events. I love it. I’d rather create centerpieces than just about anything! I have a full time job as a Document Control Manager for a women’s health company in Monroeville, PA, and I really enjoy my job and the people I work with, but I get giddy with excitement when it comes to planning parties!

This past weekend I successfully executed a surprise party for my mom’s 50th birthday. It poured all day, so Plan B (aka my garage) quickly became necessary! After the event was over and we were cleaning up, I kept thinking through the rest of the weekend…“Wow, that was so fun! I want to do more of this…” It’s such a thrill to look around at the decor and be impressed with yourself! lol

I’ve struggled with how my planning will be different than someone else’s and the conclusion that I have come to is that I will treat every single party as I did my mom’s surprise party this past weekend. The little details are what make the event memorable. I see those little details and I won’t rest until they are exactly how I want them! I am slightly OCD which has led to many embarrassing moments when a potential boss is interviewing me and I try to patiently wait for a pause in the conversation so that I can ask him if I can please straighten his blinds, pictures, etc. While this “everything has to be in order” personality may sometimes drive my sweet hubby over the edge, I think it is going to be a great aid in this event planning endeavor!

I’m very frugal. I enjoy the hunt of a good deal and using coupons at the craft store. I’m not above couponing, and I won’t hesitate to do that for my clients! I want to help people have a “princess event on a peasant budget.” Every girl deserves the wedding of her dreams, and I truly believe that that dream can be obtained on a carefully planned budget. I can stretch money like crazy when it comes to event planning, and I am looking forward to the challenge of creating one-of-a-kind events while getting people a great deal!

I can’t believe that today is happening! I am so thankful for my hubby who came home tonight and asked me what I did while he was at his men’s bible study…“I created my website” “For what? (smile)” “My event planning dream.” And he got this big grin and hugged me and told me he was so proud of me. I couldn’t ask for more! I’m so thankful that I have a husband who supports my dreams and is excited to join me on this new journey! I’m so thankful that God has allowed me to take this adventure and given me a man who supports it.

So welcome, friends! Welcome to my dream~and thanks for joining me on this exciting journey…
